    Surfer lands floater...on a shark!

    by lakor

Check out this interesting story from stabmag.com. If you are a bit sketchy on your english surf-lingo, this is also a good chance to add a few words to your vocabulary:

Looking to spice up your floaters? How ’bout stomping one on a shark’s back? Billy O’Leary, a 20-year-old surfer from Mermaid Beach in Oz, was surfing at Nobby’s Beach on the Gold Coast when he came outta a floater and accidentally landed on a bull shark. Unfortunately the shark didn’t dig on it and spun round, taking a chunk outta Billy’s leg. Despite deep lacerations on his left calf (and one to his achilles tendon), Billy’s condition is stable. At least, enough to write this on his social media:

“‎(sic) 150 friend requests, 54 messages, 90 wall posts and around 200text messages and phone calls. THANKS HEAPS EVERYONE, apparently im not allowed to speak about until after the channel 9 interview is released tonight but all I can say is that I looked that 20ft greatwhite in the face and said, “not today buddy, not today”.. Anyway, going into Surgery now, wish me luck. THANKS AGAIN!”
